Native Revegetation
This project on the Opawa River, Marlborough, commenced in 2006.
Approximately 100 large macrocarpa trees that were over hanging the river, were removed using wire ropes and a 33tonne excavator.
Over a two year period we revegetated approximately 2.4kms of river bank in native riparian plantings.
Using a selection of species such as native grass, cabbage trees, flax and toi-toi, we are able to create a design reflective of the original landscape of the region.
By returning this river bank to an original landscape, an abundance of wildlife has returned to the area and natural bio-diversity of the area has flourished.
